The Landscape Committee and the V@TC Board has approved a memorial tree donation program for the complex. The program allows a resident to have a tree planted in the complex as a memorial to a deceased family member. The type of tree and the location would have to be approved by the Landscape Committee, of course, but the Committee will work with you to bring your wishes to fruition. The species of tree must be chosen from an approved list of trees already in the complex, which have been selected for their ability to tolerate our desert climate. Depending on the size and type of tree chosen, the cost for a memorial tree will be around $500.00-$1,500.00. There will also be an option available to include a memorial plaque if the donor chooses.
If donating a memorial tree would be of interest to you, please contact Julie Grommes at 480-396-4567 or [email protected] for more information or to initiate a memorial.
In addition to tree donations, the Landscape Committee also welcomes plant donations. If you have a particular plant or shrubbery you would like donate for planting, either by your condo or somewhere around the complex, please reach out to the Landscape Committee using the Request for Landscape Work form on the website. Per the Fountain Hills Low Water Landscaping Ordinance 06-19, passed December 7, 2006, only plants from the acceptable Plants and Shrubs list can be donated. You would be responsible for paying for the purchase of the plant, but we would cover the cost of planting it.
